Top 10 Casio Watches

I picked up a new watch-storage/ travel case on Amazon from Comecase which has 10 slots with watch pillows plus 4 elastic pockets on the top panel for accessories and an easy zipper close.  It lead me to think what 10 watches would I bring with me if I was going on an extensive trip which then lead me to think what are my top ten favorite Casios currently ( as of late 2023).

I love the brand Casio and if you watch my channel you know I have reviewed many Casio’s and have an abundance of them in my collection.  So in reverse order here are my current favorites.  But, before the countdown here is a bonus selection.

Honorable Mention: Casio F105W  A retro, 80s-90's design, based on more modern version of F91W, slightly thicker and but still rugged and light weight.  The biggest difference from the classic F91W is the Illuminator EL backlight (which is a huge improvement over the very poor side lamp on the F91W) and more modern blue graphics on the resin glass.

10. Casio MTP-S110:  Divers style analog watch featuring a solar powered module with mineral glass with 24hr timekeeping on the dial.  Definitely a "decrotive diver watch" though with just 100m water resistance, a fixed bezel, and non-scredown crown.  44mm case and 22mm lug  width, weight: 86g.  I currently have a James Bond-style nato strap on the watch and I love the red second hand and minute hand.  MSRP $145

9.  Casio A168W:  A vintage Digital Quartz with resin glass and excellent EL backlight. Smaller chrome finished, resin case 38.6mm wide, stainless steel band, weight: 50g,  MSRP: $29.95.  Battery driven, 3-button, dependable Casio movement.  Punches way above its class and fits many different sized wrists.

8.  Casio DW291H:  This watch has a lot of the features I just love with digital world time, a 10 year battery, and mineral glass.  LED Amber light is great.  50.4mm resin case.  200m water resistant.  63g wt.   MSRP $42.95.  Wonderful dials and easy to read it has 31 time zones and 48 cities preprogrammed make this a super travel watch as you can assign 5 default cities in your watch.

7.  Casio AQS810W:  This is a tough solar analog digital with resin glass and LED amber light.  48.3mm resin case.  100m water resistant.  40g weight and world time. .  5 alarms 2 countdown timers.  My favorite feature is the ability to toggle from your set, home city to travel city by holding the top buttons which moved the analog hands to the new timezone. MSRP $55.95

6.  Casio "Duro" MDV106-1A:  This watch deserves all the hype it gets with analog quartz diver (date) and mineral glass.  Unidirectional, rotating bezel. 44.2mm SS case.  200m water resistant.  92g weight.  Also, a screw down crown & case back.  MSRP: $69.95.   With a simple dial with great red second band.  The only downside is the lack of quality lume.  I wish it had better lume treatment but otherwise an amazing watch!

5.  Casio DW290-1:  From the Mission Impossible movies, worn by Tom Cruise to other such publicity, this watch has been given a lot of hype but deservedly so with its incredible accuracyat +/- 15 seconds per month, mineral glass and rugged, unique shaped, hexigonal resin case.  EL blue backlight with flash-alert.  46.8mm resin case, 200m water resistant.  56g weight.  MSRP $54.95.

4.  G-SHOCK GW-6900-1:  I have reviewed this watch and it is definitely one of my favorites especially for the money and with its superb features such as tough solar, multi-band 6, and mineral glass.  EL blacklight blue green.  50mm resin case and 200m water resistant.  63g weight.  MSRP $140.  So well protected and simple and dependable  , the GW-6900 is an excellent choice for users that want a round-case option in a G-Shock.

3. G-SHOCK GWM5610-1:  This new and improved 5610 has fast become my favorite and best G-Shock watch!  It is 'hip to be square' for sure and this watch has roughly the same case design of the original 5000 series G-shock from 1983.  An updated version of the 5610 with its same tough solar multi-band 6 and mineral glass has been enhanced with an LED white light which now has the option doubling its light duration from 1.5 to 3 seconds when deployed.  Some other differences over the original are you can toggle your day and date and now there are 5 cities in world-time. You can also now keep track of time while using the stopwatch and timer mode with the time being displayed in the upper righthand subdial.  200m water resistant.  51.7g weight.  MSRP $150.

2.  "CASIO ROYALE" AE-1200WHWow wait our top 2 watches are not G-Shocks. Nicknamed the Casio Royale because it likens to a Seiko watch worn by the great Sir Roger Moore in the 1983 james Bonf film, Octapussy.  The AE-1200 has world-time with 31 time zones and 48 cities and 4 default cities and resin glass along with LED amber light all in a 42.1mm resin case.  100m water resistant and 91g weight.  Stainless steel bracelet with a branded, folding buckle. Plus a 10 year battery!  MSRP $42.95.

1.  PRO TREK PRW3510:  A watch that I have reviewed on the channel.. it is chock full of features that help make this watch my top pick for sure!   With Self-adjusting, self-charging watch with Multi-band 6 and Tough Solar respectively, also featuring an altimeter, compass, thermometer, and barometer this is an adventure waatch that is rugged and great looking!  The STN LCD (Negative) display makes for excellent legibility and a premium, modern look to the dial segments.  A full size, resin case @ 53.4mm, 91g weight.  Premium feeling silicone band with black-ion steel buckle and branded keeper.  Bi-directiona, black-ion coated steell bezel that featured a smooth, click-free actuation.  MSRP $350.
